...working in mental health is challenging,
but highly rewarding.
We work to identify what services
are lacking. Building capacity at community levels to provide best in class solutions is what we strive to do."
— Nitika (Rewari) Chunilall, Mental Health Commission of Canada
MENTAL HEALTH affects >600 million people worldwide and most countries spend less than 2% of government funds in treatment and prevention but lose anywhere between $16million to $2billion a year since 2017.
Mental disorders frequently lead individuals and families into poverty. Homelessness and inappropriate incarceration is far more common for people with mental disorders than for the general population, and exacerbate their marginalization and vulnerability. This annual Mental Health Impact Design Sprint will focus on crowdsourcing relevant and applicable solutions to life applicability areas,we call; ‘tracks’.
